On Friday, we took a ‘business trip’ (never in our wildest dreams, did we think we would be calling fabric shopping and quilt shows business trips! haha!) to the Newark Quilt Show!
We’ve never been to a Quilt Show before, so we weren’t exactly sure what to expect! On first impressions, it was incredible busy, lots of people bustling about, lots of beautiful quilts on display from many talented quilters and an multitude of stalls full to the brim of fabrics, sewing notions and quilting supplies!

We really enjoyed looking at the beautiful quilts on display, above are some of our favourite mini quilts! We were engrossed by the incredible stitch work on most of them. Spending so long, studying each detail of every quilt! We did get some close ups, honestly, the pictures really do not do them justice but it gives you an idea of how detailed they are!

Finally, we headed our way to the little café and queued for what seemed an eternity – note for next time – TAKE A PACKED LUNCH! We had a quick lunch of crinkle cut chip cobs (that was a treat in itself! We hadn’t had crinkle cut chips for YEARS!) and made our way to the stands! We always do a sweep of the stalls before we start buying! We seem to think this will stop the urge to impulse buy but alas, we were still £200 lighter by the end of our day!
Lots of goodies were had, fabrics, threads and pick and stitches! These will be uploaded over on our YouTube channel this weekend, so make sure you are subscribed! You can find all our social media platforms linked at the bottom of each webpage!
We’ll close this blog post off with some more pictures of the incredible quilts from the show! A side note, the Union Jack was for sale £250, we honestly think the hard work and detail put into that quilt made it worth so much more! We wished there was a way to tell the seller, that she had severely under-priced her work!

Until our next post!
