Moonlight Stitches

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! We have had a much need Christmas break and thought we would welcome you back with a recount of the Chicken Wire Allium Workshop we hosted just before Christmas with our friends from Le Jardin Créatif!

Our morning started off with a room packed with 17 like-minded ladies, fun introductions, and lots of well-timed jokes by our guest tutor Paul (who also happens to be Rachel’s younger brother and Heather’s ever-loving Uncle by default!). Now full of tea and coffee, Paul taught us how to make a glorious trio of chicken wire alliums – complete with lots of ball bashing and pinching.

After all that excitement, we finally got to spray our finished pieces with a variant of lilac and periwinkle shades, adding that finishing touch! Now 17 trios sit proudly in gardens across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire!

A little more about Le Jardin Créatif, based in Haute, Vienne, France. Their Nursery and Garden opened in March of 2018 hosting numerous short course and workshops in sculpture and natural crafts, horticulture and gardening, stained glass, metal work and floral arts.

They are due to visit again December 2024, so we are hoping to host them again this year! In the meantime, you can visit their website & Facebook page to follow their adventure or even treat yourself to a workshop in the sun!
