In March, Rachel and I attended a Bear Workshop with Gaye Parker at Bobbin About Treasures.
Along with a group of our closest friends, we embarked on what would be our friend Penny’s greatest adventure!! Haha!

The day began with Gaye explaining what we would accomplish during the day and giving us a choice of beautiful mohair fabric to make our tiny bears from! After lots of ooing and ahhing over the choices, we finally settled on our choices!
We then went on to cutting out the pre-drawn templates and sewing our bears together. This workshop called for machine stitching – you had the option of bringing your own or using one of the many to hand at the Sew Lovely Studio where the workshop was hosted.
Gaye did a wonderful job at helping all the ladies of group and giving time to everyone individually and attentively working with those who did need that extra help being first-time stitchers or those who were just rusty with a machine!

Once we had nearly finished our tiny bears, Gaye had a selection of hand knitted dress and uniforms, along with coats for your new friend you could purchase! This made me giddy with excitement and I chose to adorn Marigold (my bears given name!) in a yellow dress and a white coat!

All in all, we absolutely recommend any of Bobbin About Treasure workshops! We had the most fun creating and dressing our tiny new friends. She offers lots of different workshops, including larger bears, rabbits and felt creatures.
Until our next post!
